Access 2 Entertainment Admission and Ride Accessibility Programs
Admission:
Access 2 Entertainment Card holders are eligible for complimentary admission* for an accompanying attendant with their admission purchase. The Access 2 Entertainment card holder admission may be purchased online or onsite the day of your visit. Complimentary attendant admission tickets must be redeemed onsite, at the plaza ticket booths, prior to entering the park.
To obtain a complimentary attendant admission, guests must present a valid Access 2 Entertainment card at the plaza ticket booths before entering the park on the date of your visit along with proof of admission purchase for the Access 2 Entertainment card holder. The Access 2 Entertainment card holder must be present at the time of request.
Please note, that the Access 2 Entertainment Card cannot be combined with other free admission offers/pricing as defined on their website
*During the annual summer fair Playland’s rides are not included with admission. All guests who wish to participate in the ride experience, including those with the Access 2 Entertainment card and their companion, are required to purchase ride passes or tickets.
Ride Accessibility:
Partnered with Easter Seals of Canada’s Access 2 Entertainment card, Playland’s Ride Accessibility program, the “exit pass” is designed to provide access for individuals with accessibility needs which require additional support with ride loading and unloading or prevent the individual from waiting in the standard ride queue lines.
The Access 2 Entertainment program participant* can obtain a “exit pass” to be used at the exit of rides, where guests will be integrated into the front of the line, typically within 1-3 ride cycles.
*Guests with mobility aids that may impact their ability to safely navigate Playland’s ride queues, but are not part of the Access 2 Entertainment program, may contact Guest Services in advance of their visit, gx@pne.ca, to discuss accessibility options and potential “exit pass” eligibility.
Ride Accessibility Program Rules:
- To obtain an “exit pass”, guests must present a valid Access 2 Entertainment card at the Guest Services booth located inside the main Playland gate. The Access 2 Entertainment card holder must be present at the time of request.
- The program allows the wristband wearing guest and one attendant (with correct ride passes- both must have fun or both must have thrill) to accompany them through either The Rapid Pass Line (when applicable during Fair and Fright Nights) or The Ride’s Exit/ Accessibility Ramp (when rapid pass lines are not in use)Through the designated line, the “exit pass” participant and their attendant will wait less time than in the general line*. Please check-in with the Ride Attendant(s) at designated entry point for direction before entering the ride area.
- If the Program participant is part of a large group, we suggest the remaining members of the party wait in the general line. When your full party is close to loading on the ride, the “exit pass” guest and their attendant may enter through the designated entrance to join the rest of the party.
- The Program participant must be present to experience the attraction when using “exit pass” benefits.
- To ensure that all guests can enjoy the rides, we ask that Program participants not frequent a ride more than 1 (one) time per hour**.
*Please note: The number of guests loaded on to each ride through the ride accessibility program will vary depending on the cycle occupancy of each ride.
** If you are one attendant supporting multiple ride accessibility program users, please speak with the ride attendant at each ride to discuss accommodation options for your party.
More about Access 2 Entertainment:
Access 2 Entertainment was created by the Easter Seals of Canada to help persons with special needs enjoy recreational activities with an attendant without the financial burden.
There is an administration fee to apply for the card of $20 for a 3-year expiration date or $30 for a 5-year expiration date.
For more information, and to apply for an Access 2 Entertainment card, please visit www.access2card.ca.
For guests who are not eligible for the Access 2 Entertainment Accessibility program, here are a few tips and techniques to manage waiting in queues:
- Encourage other members of your party to help create space around you in line to make it more comfortable.
- In a theme park environment, which requires additional walking or standing, bring a mobility device such as a wheelchair, walker with a seat, or a cane chair.
- Bring a sensory toy or a calming item—such as a stress ball, favorite device or activity like a tablet, video game, comic book or another item that may be calming or distracting while waiting in a queue.
- Grab a snack or drink to enjoy while waiting in a queue. Just be sure to finish it before boarding the attraction.
- Break up the day by participating in rides and attractions with shorter queues
- For comfort during extended wait times, consider packing items such as a sweater or jacket, sun protection or a hat.
For more information on accessibility please visit any Guest Services booth or contact the Guest Experience team at gx@pne.ca
