Park Access Updates

Access to sections of Hastings Park may differ or be closed off to non-ticket holders during events. See below for our current and upcoming park access changes and closures. While we do our best to keep the community informed in advance, sudden and unscheduled closures may happen from time to time.

2024 Winter Fair fencing Timeline

Public Washrooms: Please note that the Centre Grounds Public Washrooms are fenced off. Public Washrooms are available by the North-East corner of the Sanctuary and will be open dawn to dusk, 7 days a week for the duration of Winter Fair, including set up and shut down.

• Nov 5 – Centergrounds Fenced
• Nov 18 – West line / Italian Gardens /Agrodome Fenced
• Dec 2 – Full perimeter fence installed Centergrounds to Agrodome to Coliseum / Rollerland and Italian Gardens

Renfrew Street Closure | Thurs Nov 14 @ 8pm-Midnight

The City of Vancouver has given a film shoot permission to close Renfrew tomorrow Thursday Nov 14, from 8pm-midnight.

Miller Drive Closure, November 5 to November 26
Miller Driver Closure map, Nov 5-26, 2024A portion of Miller Drive will be closed from November 5 to November 26 to enable the completion of critical civil and utility works for the Amphitheatre project. There will be no throughway access on Miller Drive, which will be barricaded and closed to vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. Construction vehicles will continue to be active in and around this area with deliveries, work vehicles, and equipment.
Prominent map signage will be installed this week at entrances around the park to advise cyclists and visitors of the closure.

 

Italian Gardens Repair Work

Beginning September 27, the water fountain in the Italian Gardens will be fenced off for repairs to the underground pipes, which are leaking and causing water seepage up around the middle area adjacent to the park benches. The work is expected to take 4 to 10 weeks, depending on the extent of the  repairs.

Areas of Hastings Park open to the general public include Momiji Garden, the Sanctuary, the basketball court, bocce ball courts, and the children’s playground.

Miller Drive Closures

  • As of September 26, there are currently no anticipated closures.
  • August 12: From 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • July 29: From 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

PNE Centre Grounds Closures

  • July 31 through August 4: No public access to the Centre Grounds, Children’s Playground, Italian Gardens, and parking along Leyshon Lane and East Forum Laneway.

PNE Fair fencing and public access

  • July 15: Hastings line from Gate 14 to Gate 1
  • July 22: Renfrew line from Gate 1 to Gate 5
  • July 29: Miller line from Coliseum to Amphitheatre construction site
  • August 4: Year-round event setup in Centre Grounds (access control)
  • August 6:  Site lockdown after hours (controlled access during days) and all internal fencing will be set up
  • August 12 to 16: No public access
  • August 17 to September 2: 2024 PNE Fair, access restricted to ticket-holders only (closed/no access Aug 19 and 26)
