Canada’s fastest electric launch coaster has been launched at Playland. Over 3,000 ideas were submitted to the contest to help name the ride, highlighting west coast concepts. Ultimately, the notion of wild energy and electrifying speed emerged, and the name was finalized combining some of the submissions.
Built by Zamperla, the ThunderVolt experience carries 12 passengers at a time through a supernatural environment with extraordinary animals, graphics and lighting that pulses as the ride system charges, leading up to its launch. The three-car train blasts off with 1.3 Gs of acceleration through an illuminated tunnel, up a steep incline before an 18-meter drop.

Playland food locations are using cashless procedures on site. We accept credit/ debit and recommend that you use your tap enabled cards.
Additional tables have been added to the grassy area north of the Flume ride , towards the front of the park.
To ensure the safety of our guests during inclement weather such as high winds, rain or lightning in the park vicinity, individual rides or the entire park may be closed. Affected rides may be re-opened if deemed safe. Playland does not issue rain cheques or refunds for ride or park closures.
